Womens Physiology & Pathology: a Neijing Classical Approach
This three-part lecture series explores the great patterns of pathology in women as understood through Classical Chinese medical theory, grounded in the Huangdi Neijing (Suwen and Lingshu). Elisabeth Rochat de la Vallée examines the specificity of women’s physiology—particularly the distinct relationship between her blood and qi (xue qi), and the blood and qi of a man, and the circulatory dynamics that differentiate women from men.
Central to the series is the role of yin and yang, blood and qi, the Extraordinary organs and vessels, and the emotional life of women.
