Ann Wolman's interest in Chinese medicine was an outgrowth of a lifelong interest in Asian philosophy and culture. She first read Jane English's translation of the Tao Te Ching with her judo class in the eighth grade. In 1993, after completing a bachelor of science degree and a teaching certificate at the University of Colorado, she took a leave of absence from her teaching job and went to acupuncture school. She graduated from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1996. After graduation she traveled to Asia and returned to practice in Boulder, Colorado from 1997–2004.
In 2004 she left Boulder and moved to North Carolina. Soon thereafter, the president of her acupuncture college suggested that she contact Dr. Cissy Majebe. After they met, she was offered a teaching position at Daoist Traditions College. She continues to teach at the college and has most recently worked to develop a post-graduate herbal certificate program. She enthusiastically joined the staff at the Chinese Acupuncture and Herbology Clinic in 2007 because she believes the clinic offers the highest-quality collaborative Chinese medicine care she has seen anywhere in the country. She continues to explore the classical roots of Chinese medicine and deepen her understanding of the work she does.
Ann sees patients in Hendersonville and Asheville. She enjoys working with a wide variety of patients at the Chinese Acupuncture and Herbology Clinic. Her specialty areas include women's health, internal medicine, and pain management.
