Joanne Shea

Joanne received a BA in Sociology/Anthropology from Geneseo State University in1993. She became a Licensed Massage Therapist in 1997 and has a specialty in Asian Bodywork Therapy, becoming Certified in Chi Nei Tsang/Daoist Abdominal Massage in 2002. Joanne has studied Qigong and taught CEU courses in Qigong and Bodywork. Joanne has studied Daoism for decades and went on a tour of Daoist Temples and Daoist Sacred Mountains in 2012.Â
Joanne Shea grew up working in her grandparent's gardens and farm. Her apprenticeships and cultural immersions include Algonquin Bush camp maple syrup harvest in Canada, Maori medicinal wisdom at the Maori cultural center in New Zealand, Mayan rainforest remedies at Ix Chel Farm on the Panti Trail in Belize, and an Ethnobotany Conference at Palenque Mexico.  Since 2020, gardening returned to the forefront of her interests. She also works in the community garden at the Center for Conscious Living and Dying in Swannanoa, NC.
