Parris Marks

MAOM, L. Ac.

Parris Marks earned her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Health Studies at UNC Asheville in 2009, and her Masters in Chinese Medicine at the Daoist Traditions College of Chinese Medical Arts in 2014.   She is a Nationally and NC State Licensed Acupuncturist, and Chinese Medical Herbalist.  Parris has been practicing Chinese Medicine for the past 10 years adding it to a thriving practice of tantric, yin and hatha yoga.  She has continued her education specializing in women’s health, channel palpation and pediatrics through courses with Sharon Weizenbaum, Jason Robertson, and Efrem Korngold and Dr. Stephen Cowan.  She also works consistently in pain management, autoimmune disorders, neuropathy, mental/emotional balance, trauma integration and spiritual exploration.   Parris sees that her patients’ health thrives when they feel a strong sense of agency throughout their body.  She integrates her undergraduate research in the field of neuroscience, cultural concepts of health and wellness and evidence-based research into her daily practice.  She is the owner and founder of Weaverville Acupuncture and Herbs in Weaverville, NC and she works at South Slope Acupuncture and Wellness in Asheville, NC.  Parris lives in Weaverville with her husband, and three children and she is delighted to be teaching Chinese Medicine theory to both her patients and her students.
