Rick McKinney

M.D.

Rick McKinney, MD graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1978, completed his internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine in 1981. He also completed a fellowship at the University of Arizona Center for Integrative Medicine in 2010. During his thirty five years in medicine, Rick was a professor at University of California San Francisco, an integrative physician at the Osher Center for Integrative Care, director of Integrative Health Services at San Francisco General Hospital, and founder and past president of Integrative Medicine for the Underserved (IM4US). His years of experience have made him profoundly aware of the mystery of healing and led him into deeper exploration of the art of medicine. He embraces a mind-body-spirit approach, recognizing and honoring the uniqueness of each person’s healing path. Rick is passionate about bringing integrative care to disadvantaged populations and comfortable holding both the hard science of allopathic medicine and the unknowable, mysterious aspects of healing.
