HEERF I Daoist Traditions has signed and submitted the Certification and Agreement for Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) grants for students. Click here for the full Quarterly Budget and Expenditure Reporting . The College has used 50% of the funds received ($13,531.00) to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students. Grants were distributed to the 98 students who are eligible to participate in Title IV eligible programs. Daoist Traditions distributed the grant money equally among the Title IV eligible student population. Students were notified and required to sign a document acknowledging the purpose of the CARES Act funds which states: The Department of Education has released funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act to higher education institutions who go through an application process and request those funds on behalf of their students. Daoist Traditions took these steps and have chosen to disburse the funds allotted in the grant to provide emergency assistance to needy students equally among our student population. This grant is being made available to students for the sole and exclusive purpose of providing emergency funds to students for their expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus, such as food, housing, course materials, technology, and health care. These funds are not considered Title IV financial aid, so they will not impact your financial aid that you traditionally receive at Daoist Traditions, nor do you have to do any further application for these funds if you do not typically request aid. This is a grant that Daoist Traditions is receiving, with explicit instruction to deliver a large percentage as emergency relief direct to our students. We understand that all of our students have been impacted by the pandemic in some form, and hope that this assistance helps in some way.
